ABOUT US

PRACTICE
Our team practices on Lake Monona, which is right in the heart of Madison and next to campus. We meet to practice at Olin Park. At these practices, we use the team boat which is leased through the Madison Collegiate Water Ski Inc. It is a 2014 Centurion Carbon Pro. You are welcome to combo ski, slalom, jump, trick, barefoot, or anything else you can think of.
HISTORY
The Wisconsin Water Ski Team was created in the Spring of 1999 by water ski enthusiasts Timothy Marien, Mike Nowicki and Matt Clark. Since then, our team has established a large and respectable reputation in the sport of water skiing. The team was created with the objective of fielding a competitive collegiate team as well as providing a learning atmosphere for all skill levels.

TOURNAMENTS
The team competes in traditional 3-event (Slalom, Trick, and Jump) tournaments in both the fall and spring seasons. The fall season is usually bigger as the tournaments are not only warmer, but also of a larger scale. Our tournaments begin in early September, and proceed all the way to mid-October when we attend Nationals. The tournaments are a blast, and all skill levels compete (from first time skiers to national champions).
Wakeboard competitions are both team and individual events. The team can either compete head-to-head in a best of 7 riders, where riders are seeded on each team. Or the team can gain points for number and performance of the athletes. Individual events have competition based on skill level.
